Agnese Dubova

In the current project Agnese Dubova is responsible for the development of the criteria for academic text selection, building the corpus of Latvian academic texts, analysis of the Latvian data.

Dubova’s research interests include language contacts (German and Latvian), scientific language and academic writing (Latvian and German), German as Foreign Language at University. In 2014 she defended her doctoral thesis “Foreign Words of Political Sphere in 20th Century German Lexicographical Sources Contrasted with Latvian” at the University of Latvia. A. Dubova has led research projects such as “Language and Structure of Scientific Introductory Texts”, “Language and Structure of Scientific Secondary Texts” and “Intra-lingual Aspects of the Latvian Scientific Language”. A. Dubova is a member of such organisations as Internationale Vereinigung für Germanistik, Mitteleuropäischer Germanistenverband, Association of Latvian Young Scientists, Latvian Association of Applied Linguistics, Association of Latvian Germanists, DAAD Alumni Verein Lettland.
