Margaux Susman is a Master’s student in Linguistics and a Research Assistant in the Department of Linguistic, Literary and Aesthetic Studies at the University of Bergen.
Margaux’s research interests lie in semantics, sign language linguistic as well as computational linguistic and more specifically the use of machine learning algorithms as a support for linguistic analysis. She is part of the Bwrite project (“Academic Writing in the Baltic States: Rhetorical Structures through Culture(s) and Languages”) funded by the Baltic States Research Programme. Along with researchers from the universities of Tartu (Estonia), Vilnius (Lithuania), Liepaja (Latvia), Birmingham (England) and Bergen (Norway), Margaux contributes to the framing of the rhetorical structures of academic writing in the three Baltic languages. In this project, she notably works towards the automation of feature detection and extraction in distinct types of academic papers employing diverse machine learning methods.
